San Francisco is the fourth most populous city in California. San Francisco, Ca is located on the west coast of the U.S. at the tip of the San Francisco Peninsula. The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF) is the city's largest public arts institution. There are a total of 43 hills within city limits and San Francisco's tallest hill named Mount Davidson, is 925 feet (282 m) high.

San Francisco Bay has lost nearly 97 percent of its historic tidal wetlands due to development pressures within and around the bay. San Francisco is just one of many cities in the Bay Area; others include San Jose, Oakland and Berkeley. Marin County and the Wine Country lie to the north of the city, across the Golden Gate Bridge. The city is the home of world famous landmarks such as Alcatraz Island and the Golden Gate Bridge.
